Keto cheat days? Should you have “cheat days” on the keto diet? We all hope to find tools to make diets easier because they are certainly hard enough as it is. But does a “cheat day” make your weight loss easier or harder?

In this video I strongly encourage you to jump on the wagon and stay on it, especially from the keto framework and especially if you intend for your “cheat days” to include the forbidden foods like chips, crackers, cookies, and donuts.
There is a very high cost to “cheat days,” especially weekly cheat days. Basically, you need to burn off your cheats. You know that. But it will take you a few days to get back into your fat-burning mode — ketosis. Imagine a weekly cheat day that requires your body three days to get back on track. You’re only on track a few days a week under that scenario. How much weight do you have to lose? Can you really afford to be off track half the time?
So my opinion on keto cheat days: Don’t do it! If you can get on the wagon to begin with, you owe it to yourself to stay on it. Don’t be tempted by the cheat days. Listen to the video.
A weekly cheat day over the course of the year would probably set your weight loss progress off by half or more. You can do better than this. If you have a lot of weight to lose, you owe it to yourself to stay focused.
Cheat later when you’re lean and when you’re better able to exercise off your cheats.
